Hello my name is Nicola and i am the owner behind Luna Blush, i have an impressive 20 years experience in the hair and beauty industry. I first started out at the young age of 15 in my hometown Abingdon, with work experience after wanting to be a hairdresser since my primary school days. The owners of the salon and staff had all thought i worked in a salon before but the truth is i was an extremely fast and keen learner. They offered me a job at the end of my work experience as a Saturday girl and when i left school i was put on an intensive 1 year apprenticeship scheme and passed with flying colours and even made the local newspaper.
From then i went from salon to salon gaining different knowledge and ideas about the industry helping me get to where i am today.
in 2014 whilst looking for a home to rent in a new area a small unit popped up in the search and that where the idea popped into my head to open my very first salon.
Formally known as Tangled hair & beauty which was established in Stanford in the vale in 2014, I ran this salon by myself for the first 6 months before realising how busy it was actually going to be, i found myself to be in the position to be able to hire my first member of staff.
After this happened i had a lot of customers asking for various other beauty treatments which i did not offer so i then rented a small office opposite and hired another therapist to work. Within a year of opening i was offered the chance of a bigger unit where both hair and beauty would be under one roof. so i made the move.. after relocating i took on more members of staff and had a full house.
A few years later i branched out and opened a second salon in Southmoore, Oxfordshire which again was a big success,
Whilst doing all this as a single mum of my two boys i decided to take a step back and focus more on my children and sadly close down my second salon and focus on the main one in stanford and having a bit of time off.
As more successful years passed and various lockdowns happened which i survived, i decided to relocate the business after moving away from the area to reduce my commute and have a better balance with my children and work to my garden salon i re-branding the business to Luna Blush.
Over the many lock downs i started to make my own range of products such as children's hair care and natural soya candles. I work alongside a UK company where the products are made fresh to each order i make and have around a 3 week turnaround depending on my artwork and requirements.
All the artwork has been designed by myself and i have a popular range in the salon now all of which are cruelty free and vegan friendly. I am also proud that all products in the salon are fully vegan and cruelty free.
